Gokyo village Everest trek is a perfect trek for people who want to enjoy the view of beautiful gokyo lake which comes through the melting Himalaya and also experience the beautiful scenario of many high mountains like Choyu, Makalu, Thamserku, Everest and many more.
The main attraction of this trek is the Gokyo lake which is blue as sky and the view point of Gokyo ri which is also the highest point of the trek standing at 5357m. From Namche Bazaar you will trek to Dole.
On the way, you will follow the trails of Khumbila. Ascend to Mongla steep hilltop.
Descend to Phortse village and wak to Dole.
After walking 4-5 hours from Dole you will pass through small yak mountain pasture, waterfalls, Khele village, Lhabarma and to Luza.
You will see beautiful view of Choyu, peak of Kantega and Thamserku. Macchermo lies in Dudh khosi river.
You will see the view of Cholatse(6445m), Taweche(6540m) and Kyajo Glacier.
You will trek Gokyo valley passing through beautiful himalayas, descend to melt water river flow from Ngozumpa.
You will be excited to see monasteries and after walking few miles reach Gokyo Lakes. The trail leads you Ngozumpa Glacier moraines to Second Gokyo Lake.
There is a Sherpa village in Gokyo lake area and after walking 2-3 hours you will reach third Gokyo lake.
Early morning before sunrise you will start your hike to Gokyo ri, After approximately 2 hours of hiking you will reach the view point. You will be engulfed with the beautiful sunrise shining through the mountains and get a 360 degree mountain view. You can enjoy a close picture of Mount Everest(8848 m), Lhotse(8516m), Makalu (8485m) and many more mountains of Everest region. Come back to Gokyo after enjoying the view and spend rest of the day there.
After hiking Gokyo Ri, Next day you need to take long day to hike Fifth Gokyo lake.
About walking 2 hours from north Gokyo Lake you will reach Thonak cho/ Tsho- fouth lake(4845m), then Ngozumpa cho/ tsho- fifth lake(4958m).
On the way, you will see beautiful view of Mt Choyu, Gyeuchung kang, Ngozumpa Glacier, Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse and Makalu.
Its time for us descend from Gokyo village to Phanga. It is opposite trail from Machhhermo. You will carry beautiful memory while returning back.
You will see early morning summit of Gokyo Ri way back to Luza, Machhermo to Khumjung. It will take a whole day.
In the Khumjung, you will visit Khunde Hospital, Khumjuna Hilary School also known as Hilary School, Khumjung Monastery and yeti Scalp.
Khumjung Monastery is a historical monument built around 400 years back. You will see yeti scalp which is keep in a cabinet.
You will back down to Phakding, sightsee the unique architecture of Nepalese Style house and descend to Lukla.
