- Could accurately predict how long guests would take to walk to various places

- Had so much history and knowledge to share
- He knew people in every village we visited. You could see the respect people have for him.
- He was always upbeat, positive and encouraging.

We were a slower, older (wiser?) group of 3 and Mingma was encouraging, careful and happy every step of the way and everything was thoughtfully planned out and executed. He knows so many people at every place we stopped that we felt extra-welcomed. And Pasan was such fun to have along, sometimes singing or talking with us about our respective cultures. Finally our other porter Gelgen was amazingly strong and always had a smile on his face. Mingma showered us with snacks, water and concern every step of the way.
